The Chow Chow is a medium size dog. It is a very furry dog and has a distinctive feature of a purple tongue. It can weigh between 45 to 70 pounds and grow to a height of about 17 to 20 inches. The Chow Chow is very loyal to family and can be wary and aggressive to strangers without proper training.
